Listen To The Chronicle Episode 029 – Mothers Instinct & Civil War

Mother's Instinct and civil war review on The Chronicle episode 29

A new episode of The Chronicle, The official Podcast. Myself and Clotilde are your hosts and if you love movies, your in the right place. For this new episode 029 we review Mothers Instinct and Civil War.

First review we go back to 1960’s American Suburbia with Mothers Instinct. Starring Anne Hathaway and Jessica Chastain who are neighbours, best friends, sons are like brothers. This starts like as if it was taken from the pages of a Douglas Sirk melodrama, things get dark when tragedy hits. Who is responsible?

What If… is the great Fantasist’s wet dream. What if something you would think of could happen did happen? Alex Garland’s Civil War is one of those films now in UK and Irish cinemas. The United State now finds itself in it’s second civil war and asks you, ” what type of American are you?“. Kirsten Dunst is veteran photojournalist Lee and mentor to Cailee Spaeney‘s Jesse as we follow the journalists making their way to Washington DC attempting to get the elusive interview. Is this a war movie? Political movie? a road more or something else?
