Listen To The Chronicle Episode 52 – Film Noir

2 men in suits and hats look like they are looking out for someone or something.

It’s been a few weeks since we’ve had a new episode of The Chronicle Film Podcast,  A new month brought us episode and myself and  Nick Barrett dive deep into the shadowy world of Film Noir.

This special episode dedicated to exploring what truly defines film noir. With its moody lighting and themes of cynicism, fatalism and existential dread, noir remains one of cinema’s most distinctive styles. Popularised in American crime films throughout the 1940s and 1950s, it continues to influence filmmakers today.

Myself  and Nick decided to stay away from the well known films with focus some of noir’s most underrated and underappreciated gems. Films that deserve recognition and we chat about The Asphalt Jungle, Criss Cross, The Prowler and The Breaking Point.
