The time has arrived for another episode of The Chronicle Film Podcast. After last week’s long episode (59), myself and Nick Barrett takes things easy with Toy Story 5 now out in cinemas.
The Disney Pixar animated franchise has delivered some truly great films that made us laugh, smile and cry. Toy Story 4 the first film of the franchise that solely focused on the toys divided opinion. Now we have a 5th film which sees the toys under threat from modern technology and a tablet called Lilypad.
The voice cast is a collective mix of returning and newcomers, they include Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Joan Cusack, Tony Hale, Wallace Shawn, Keanu Reeves, John Ratzenberger, Conan O’Brien, Greta Lee and Alan Cumming.
Has Pixar created another fun-filled adventure worthy of the franchise’s legacy, or is Toy Story 5 relying too heavily on nostalgia?
