Listen: Episode 028 The Chronicle – Robot Dreams & Monster

Robot Dreams now out in cinemas

The Chronicle film Podcast’s latest Episode 028 myselfand Clotilde chat about  Hirokazu Kore-eda’s Monster and Spanish animation Robot Dreams.

We first start things off  with Kore-eda’s powerful Monster. Who is the monster? The film stars Kore-eda regular Sakura Ando (Godzilla Minus One, Shoplifters). She plays  a single mother who knows something is wrong with her son who is acting strangely. When she learns, this might be due to his school teacher, she confronts the school. The film is seen from three different perspectives: the mother, the son and the teacher.

Who said Animation was just for kids? Watch the Oscar nominated Robot Dreams  you’ll know it’s for everyone! It’s directed by Pablo Berger, and is based on Sara Varon’s graphic novel of the same name. We go back to the 1980’s and Manhattan, we follow Dog who builds himself a robot companion . After a day trip to the nearby beach Dog is forced to abandon his new friend will the pair ever reunite?
